Today all roads lead inevitably til en bil från Sverige, the Volvo 144.
The first Volvo I ever sat in was a white 144, rather like this and belonging to my boss of the time. It had fuel injection, quite a thing then, but otherwise you were on your own with manual windows, doors and steering.
In corporate news, Volvo no longer make the 144 or any other car, having sold out the car division to Ford who then sold it to Geely.
